Willow weaving workshops
2nd, 4th and 14th April
Celebrate the signs of spring at our willow weaving workshops!
We’ve teamed up with our friends at The Wildlife Trust BCN to bring you these creative (and free!) workshops. This is your chance to learn a new skill, learn about these beautiful migratory birds and take home a handmade willow swallow. Swallows are common birds of open pasture near water and are often heralded as the official start of spring. They are agile fliers, feeding on flying insects while on the wing. You can read more about swallows, including how to identify them here.
During these workshops you will be guided on using willow and will create a willow swallow bird decoration to take home. Suitable for beginners (age 7+ with adult supervision) so no previous experience is necessary. However, some manual dexterity and hand strength will be required. Goggles and tools will be provided and you will be shown how to use these safely.
