Lunchtime talks at Discover Northamptonshire

Our friends at Discover Northamptonshire have put together a series of lunchtime talks on a range of different topics 😀💬 All talks start at 1pm and last for 45 minutes. Tickets cost £2.50 and must be bought in advance, find out more here.

  • 20/9/23: NORTHANTS FILM ARCHIVE TRUST: Come & meet the team at the Northamptonshire Film Archive Trust & learn about amateur film making before the days of video tape, DVDs & digital technology.
  • 27/09/23: SUSTAINABLE FASHION: Come listen to how you can save the planet, one quirky outfit at a time, & learn just how dangerous of a trend ‘fast fashion’ really is.
  • 4/10/23: AMERICAN CONNECTIONS: From the very first emigrants to the States, to the brave US soldiers who were stationed here during WW2, local historian Jon-Paul Carr will be giving a unique insight into one of the most interesting connections Northamptonshire has.
  • 11/10/23: BLACK HISTORY IN NORTHAMPTONSHIRE: From Peter the Saracen in the 13th century, to Walter Tull in the early 20th century, all the way to the infamous Tower Boot legal case in 1997, there is a wealth of Black History in Northamptonshire to learn about during Black History Month!
  • 18/10/23: NENE WETLANDS TRUST: WINTER MIGRANTS: Join the Nene Wetlands Trust for a talk about the migrating winter birds coming to stay with us for Christmas!
  • 25/10/23: GHOSTS IN NORTHAMPTONSHIRE – ADRIAN PERKINS: Listen to author Adrian Perkins talk about his spooky ghost hunting adventures at the Green Dragon in Higham Ferrers & cases in Wellingborough & Kettering. (16+)
