Jeyes’s Northamptonshire Sauce Now at Magazine Heaven!

New to Magazine Heaven and Artisan Café. This 1800s recipe was re-discovered in 2020, and can be used to enrich gravies or as a zest for fish, curries, steaks, cold meats and soups.

Hungry to find their pharmacist ancestor’s 1800s recipe for Philadelphus Jeyes’s Northamptonshire Sauce, the Jeyes family were gratified to discover it during lockdown, 2020.

With the encouragement of BBC Radio Northampton, the family researched the early records, discovered the original recipe, recreated the sauce, and launched Jeyes’s Northamptonshire Sauce in October 2020.

The sauce has been sent near and far, used in households and pubs across the county, sold in delis and farm shops and soon to feature on a new Channel 4 series – Aldi’s Next Big Thing. Jeyes’s Northamptonshire Sauce will feature on Thursday 17th November 2022.

Head down to Magazine Heaven/Artisan Café at Rushden Lakes to pick up a bottle for £3.95!
