Founded in 1972 Louisiana by Al Copeland who dreamed of serving the best fried chicken. 50 years ago in New Orleans, Louisiana. A taste sensation was born. What started as one small restaurant with a dream of creating the world’s best fried chicken is now a craze that has swept across the world, serving in over 4,000 restaurants…and we’re not stopping there. We believe in Better Chicken

Our chicken is freshly prepared daily in our restaurants, NEVER frozen. We believe the best food takes time, all our chicken is marinaded for 12 hours in our signature blend of Louisiana herbs & spices and then hand-breaded and hand-battered to create that famous Popeyes Shatter-Crunch. Whether you’ve gone meat-free or are a flexitarian we have vegan options, including our 100% plant based vegan sandwich. We also recognise that different folks have different tastes and needs, and everybody is welcome. That's why all of our chicken is Halal. Improving animal welfare is also very important to us. We have signed up to the Better Chicken Commitment and in doing so, we will work with our suppliers and Compassion in World Farming as we progress on our journey to deliver this by 2026 at the latest.
