Summer Fashion & Beauty Guide
Summer 2022 is bringing sexy back and the key trends paraded on the runway were wrapped in body loving silhouettes. From cut out dresses to cropped t-shirts and the celebration of skin for the first official summer of freedom since the pandemic, it is safe to say that Spring/Summer 2022 collections are here to hail the sunshine. Short, bold and flowy is all the rage. I spotted underwear-as-outerwear and 2 piece sets encouraging confidence and throwing body caution to the wind. The time has come to embrace the skin you are in and indulge in fashion that shouts body positivity from head to toe.

Colour is also high on the agenda this season and you can take pride in a rainbow combination set to brighten up any look. There is not the slightest excuse for neutrals, the shop windows are bursting with juicy style flavours, set to wet any fashion appetite.

There is something for everyone with these trends and Rushden Lakes is the number one destination to secure a summer wardrobe that will see you through. I scoured the fashion stores and spotted block colours, prints and volume. Plus, brands showing a newfound love for quilted bags paired with kitten-heels. From festival vibes to holiday style, there’s a wide range of must have fashion items to choose from.

To pair these incredible fashion finds you need the right beauty to complete the look, House of Fraser Makeup Artists know a thing or two about what should be in your beauty bag this season, so I popped over to get some expert advice and share their highly credited tips.
Leah at Dior recommended “Forever Skin Glow and Forever Matt foundation, there are two skin finishes, dewy or matt. Its formula is composed of an 86%* skincare base, providing long-lasting comfort, letting your skin breathe, while improving your complexion. It looks after your skin whilst you wear it. It is also nice and light and has buildable coverage so you can have it light for a more natural look or more layered for evening events. I’d also recommend that you add the Dior Addict Lip Glow to your kit this season. It has a nourishing balm and a colour reviving balm. It changes colour based on your lips natural tone which results in a nice surprise with fuller lips.”
Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation £40
Dior Lip Glow £29.50
Jess at Benefit pulled out the big guns with the only brow and lash products you’ll need. “The Bad Gal Bang Mascara is a must, it has 36-hour wear and has special particles so that it has minimal weight whilst wearing it and its smudge proof and waterproof. We are the U.K’s number one brow brand so my next essential would be the Precisely My Brow Pencil, the U.K’s number one pencil.”
Benefit Bad Gal Mascara £19
Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil £19
Katy at M.A.C joined in on the conversation and added her two M.A.C must haves to complete your makeup bag. “You need the Honey Love Matt Lipstick and the Cork Lip Liner. The Cork is a really nice nude lip liner, it’s darker than Honey Love so it really defines the lip and Honey Love is a really nice nude.”
MAC Lip Pencil £17
MAC Matt lipstick £18.50
