Leather is more than a statement of luxury fashion this season, it has become a wardrobe staple. As one of the popular trends spotted on shoppers at Rushden Lakes, it is clearly the piece of the season for a reason. Donning the fabric on bags, footwear, biker jackets and so much more it has come back big for autumn/winter. This taste of luxury fashion is one that the shoppers had a huge appetite for, see our top edit in the gallery below.
We headed over to Robert Goddard to get in on more of the high fashion action and caught up with the team. On menswear Jack shared “We’re seeing a lot more traditional waxes, we do Barbour International so you can get that really cool streetwear and biker style and items that you can dress up or dress down. Sweatshirts are also huge, and we have a lot of brighter colours, which is good to wear this time of year. It is nice to push out of the comfort zone of darker colours for winter. You’ll see greens, light blues, pinks and rust on brands like Farah”
Over at women’s fashion style advisor Gina walked us through the designer ranges. “Trends at the moment are checks, leathers, chunky cardigans and clothing that will get you in the mood for winter. We have long dresses and items that are great for layering up. We have Ralph Lauren, new brand Selected Femme, French Connection, Ted Baker and Tommy Hilfiger.”.

To round up this month’s fashion showdown, another trend that was a clear favourite amongst the shoppers was volume. Amongst the fash pack there is only one rule when it comes to this trend, and it is to pump, pump, pump it up. Nothing says you have arrived quite like a big jacket.
