And with our steps to achieve a travel plan designed to reduce our carbon footprint and get you here hassle free, we’re proudly the first shopping centre to achieve National STARS Accreditation and have been awarded with a Bronze level Modeshift STARS (Sustainable Travel Accredited and Recognised).
We’re working to combat climate change and be part of the solution to save our planet. For customers travelling by car, we have Pod Point charge points at Rushden Lakes, designed to support your efforts to drive into a low-carbon future and make an impact, one journey at a time.
Like to cycle? It’s the perfect way to take in the fresh air and get exercise. Cycling is a simple and fast mode to get you door to door, whilst you take in the scenic routes that this great county has to offer. Take advantage of the step-free footbridge that links Rushden town centre directly to Rushden Lakes so you can avoid any congestion on the A45. The East Northants Greenway is the perfect cycling route linking the towns of Rushden, Higham Ferrers and Irthlingborough. With designated cycle racks, you can lock your bike and proceed to shop carefree. Plus, we’re offering free bike repairs and maintenance sessions, bike safety training, and providing vouchers from AJ Cycles and Decathlon for cyclists. Making your journey even more worthwhile!
Fancy trying another fun way to head to your favourite shopping destination? If you haven’t already experienced VOI E-Scooters, then summer 2022 is the ideal time to try something new. You can get rolling in no time! Safety comes first, so be sure to travel with a helmet, never under the influence of alcohol and travel independently (no-twinning allowed)! Travelling by bus? We have just the ticket! There are plenty of bus services running between Rushden Lakes and surrounding villages and towns. This includes Wellingborough, Kettering, Northampton, Earls Barton and more. With services available all day, every day to accommodate early mornings and night travel, you’re guaranteed to find a route that will get around safely. The following two routes are available on Stagecoach and service most of the local area:
Route 50
(from the north) – Kettering, Barton Seagrave, Burton Latimer, Finedon, Irthlingborough, Rushden Lakes, Rushden
(from the south) – Bedford, Clapham, Milton Ernest, Radwell, Sharnbrook, Rushden, Rushden Lakes
Route X46/X47
(from the north) – Raunds, Stanwick, Higham Ferrers, Rushden Lakes
(from the south) – Northampton, Earls Barton, Great Doddington (X47), Wellingborough, Rushden Lakes

Starting your journey by train? Wellingborough station is the nearest train station to get you to Rushden Lakes. For train times and fare information click
here. From there, you can hop into a taxi that will get you to the retail park within 15 mins for approximately £12. Alternatively, you can choose a bus route from the list above which can be taken from the Wellingborough bus station in just a few minutes, with fares ranging from £2-£4.
And finally, the most natural option that gets in your daily steps and avoids any parking restrictions or traffic, is walking. Not only is it free but it means you can stay at Rushden Lakes for even longer. Walking offers so many benefits, including; improving cardiovascular fitness, increased energy levels and general well-being. Rushden Lakes have made this mode of transport accessible for everyone, so you can enjoy a stroll to the ultimate destination and shop until your heart is content, enjoy the Nene Valley views and dine out at our many restaurants.
