FREE Seed Balls at Rushden Lakes

Pick up a free seed ball today and be a part of our green planet… In support of The Green Planet and its commitment to increasing biodiversity, here at Rushden Lakes, we are giving away FREE seed balls to visitors! Running from the 28th February through to the 6th March, you will be able to pick up your seed ball from the Wildlife Trust Visitor Centre at Rushden Lakes. There are 1,000 Green Planet seed balls available and these will be distributed daily during the Centre’s opening hours of 10am-4pm. Seed balls are limited to one per household on a first come first served basis, whilst stocks last. The seed balls are a mini-ecosystem protecting seeds from birds, ants and slugs and giving them nutrition as they germinate and grow. Pick up your seed ball, take it home and scatter it in your own garden or planter and watch the native UK wildflowers come to life in your very own ‘green planet’. We at Rushden Lakes, as part of The Crown Estate, are committed to making the nation greener,  and that’s why we are supporting The Green Planet’s message of biodiversity. Please note: As the nature reserve at Rushden is a maintained ecosystem, we kindly ask you not to scatter seed balls on-site.
